Our youth club is for kids ages 8-18 who like climbing and are curious about learning a new sport and who want to learn to climb using tools. We will work with kids individually and as a group, teaching climbing technique, movement with tools and tool management, as well as climbing training. Even if children have never climbed before at all, they are welcome. We want kids to learn to discover how they can control their thinking and their bodies to achieve their own goals, and to have a lot of fun in the process.
Kids meet once a week on Tuesdays from 4:00-6:00pm, and they must be at least 8 years old.
Kids club is $99 per month with a one time setup fee of $34.99 and includes a monthly membership for the enrolled youth
Competition Ice Climbing is one of the newest forms of climbing, and one of the most spectacular. Climbers move using ice tools over immense overhanging structures that incorporate free hanging dynamic volumes that replicate the delicate and unpredictable medium that is mixed water ice climbing. We would like Utah to become a major center of professional ice athletes and are looking for motivated youth to help us build a program to train competitors for the UIAA US National Youth Ice Team.
We invite experienced sport and traditional climbers to learn technique and movement specific to climbing ice and rock with tools, and become familiar with the holds, and format of the sport. However, in addition to indoor climbing we will also incorporate experience outdoors on rock for competitions which include those formats and to give our team the skills and experience that they can take into their own recreational goals.
The youth team meets once a week on Thursdays from 4:00-6:00pm. Aspirant team members need to be at least 10 years old to apply for the team, and they must include a resume of their climbing experience.
